Current Lusts: Lusts of the Winter

Here, I list 10 items I am lusting after, specifically for the winter season. Enjoy!

Winter Lusts

1) BCBGENERATION faux fur scarf to wrap around plain coats to give it a touch of the glamour fur can add to an everyday outfit.
2) Ted Baker gloves. I hear they're the best and last a long time. Quality... check!
3) Fait isle sweater. I love sweaters and have been dying to get one with a tasteful fair isle print that screams the holiday's are right around the corner!
4) Chanel sunglasses... need I say more?
5) Faux fur cassock hat. Have one in white from last winter and really want one in a brown shade.
6) Coach Therese boots. 3 1/2 inch heels for this 5'2" brunette and tassels. I also really need a pair of black boots and these seem like they'll get the job done. They are also currently on sale at coach.com.
7) Carven cable knit dress for holiday parties. Would look amazing with pearls and a nice winter coat.
8) New pair of Wolford tights. Super comfy.
9) Burberry London shearling coat. Just look at it... I have for the past 2 or so weeks. MAJOR LUST.
10) Calvin Klein snow boots for skiing this holiday vacation. My last pair got lost and I had to but a new cheap pair on holiday that just weren't as stylish as these seem to be.

Beauty Buy: Eyelash Curler

Today I made a trip to Saks... seriously, what 18 year old girl actually goes to Saks? (more down below). Anyways, I was originally going to check out and buy a new Chanel Rouge Coco Shine lipstick (which I totally forgot about) and was browsing through the beautiful colours when the lovely assistant Paige comes to help. She directed me to a red lipstick I was also going to pick up for my mom and subsequently showed me the Chanel lash curler or Recourbe Cils de Chanel, if you will. I have seen this lash curler before and was in dire need of a new one so I thought if you're going to get a new one anyways why not get this one? So I purchased it and so far it is far superior to any other curler I have tried, just like Paige promised. I will report back within a week to corroborate my initial claims.

Back on the subject of Saks, I absolutely love this store and have loved it even since I first walked through the across the grand department store, past all the scary employees on the way to Chanel when I was 13. Anyways, I feel like, if anything, more mature or middle-aged women shop here. Nordstroms is more of a younger vibe but Saks to me is more elegant and pristine in its own way. Not hating on Nordstroms... love that place also. Saks is just a whole lot more intimidating if it's your first time. So question of the week... what was it like for your first time in Saks or a luxury department store or just any department store?

November Inspiration Board

As promised, my November Inspiration Board! Camel, creme, oranges and wine! (Why does that sound like menu choices at a restaurant?) Enjoy.

November Inspiration Board

All these things remind me of November. From the Burberry plaid check print to the camel boots. I also fell in love with these burgundy J Brand velvet pants and am also unsuccessfully avoiding looking into anything fall inspired as winter is coming (Game of Thrones, anyone?). And on that note, A December Inspiration Board will be up at the end of November.

P.S. An Americana inspired post will be up soon!

Halloween Outfits!

Halloween is just around the corner and if you're like me, you don't dress up anymore. But if you still like the spirit of the holiday and want to show it, here are a couple outfits I styled based around Halloween.
halloween outfits

The first outfit to the left is more of an evening based look. It consists of an orange pedaled skirt and black tights, a black tank top and black ankle boots. This look is so simple it should be easy to replicate except for the orange skirt really. If you want you may even be able to get away with pairing the necklace in the second outfit with this look as well.

The second outfit, I had workwear in mind so I started out with a simple white long sleeved dress from Reiss and added brown boots and a handbag to go along with it. The Halloween twist to this outfit is the orange necklace. Jewelry is probably the safest way to go when planning a Halloween themed outfits... just don't go overboard!

The third and final outfit came about when I saw this MaxMara coat and it instantly reminded me of Breakfast at Tiffany's when Holly and Paul walk down Fifth Avenue on the way to Tiffany & Co and I knew I needed a hat for this look. Sadly, it doesn't feel quite as winter has set in yet so I resisted slapping a cossack hat up there and settled on this classic fedora that gives the whole look a sophisticated vibe. Of course you'll want to put some pants or a dress on underneath.

With all the outfits I assembled you will notice my method is to take the color orange and focus it on one article and isolate it from all the other colours. In this way,  it becomes the statement piece. You can do this with any bold color just try and keep all the other colours neutral within the ensemble. Hope you enjoyed! Also, will you be dressing up in costume or fancy dress for Halloween?

P.S. A November Inspiration Board will be posted within the next week- week and a half of fashion images, outfits and random bits that remind me of November. Also a beauty post up soon!
